Woven Into the Living Web; Honoring our Ancestors

Unitarian Universalists often imagine the ties between our ancestors and loved ones who have passed as threads, woven into the tapestry of our lives. Join Rev. Jenny in a reflection on the humbling reality of the brevity of our lives and an invitation to consider how the love and good work of those who came before us might inspire our own legacies. On this annual celebration of All Souls, we will sing the names of loved ones who have died and honor their memories. Please bring a photo or trinket that reminds you of someone you would like us to remember to be placed on a Memory Table during the worship service.

During service, children will be invited to join us for our Children's Faith Exploration program, Growing Columbines. Our program (K-5th) engages the spirit, mind, and body through games, movement, and hands-on activities. Kids start in the sanctuary with the whole congregation before heading to their classes.

For our youngest friends (under age 5), Nursery care is available for the duration of the service.

This November, children and youth in our Nursery and FE Classroom are exploring covenant—discovering how shared values, promises, and caring traditions connect us across generations. This weekend, our Nursery children will be reading, “The Big Umbrella” by Amy June Bates. Which will lead us into our activity, there is always a way to make room for someone. Our multi-age youth group (Growing Columbines), will be using our TFAA’s story, "One Big Heart" by Linsey Davis to create “Tessellations”. These are repeating patterns of different shapes that fit together without gaps or holes. These will help us understand that we shouldn’t focus on what makes us different but instead what connects us to make us fit together.
